"As a Somma resident and city councilor, I am sincerely concerned about the continuing episodes of delinquency and petty crime that are occurring in our city. Just a day ago, a car had its four wheels stolen, right in the city center: I express all my solidarity with the owner, daughter of a well-known local entrepreneur, but at the same time I ask the city administration to take charge of the crime problem in Somma Vesuviana, providing cultural and social responses but also prevention and repression". Thus Celestino Allocca, former candidate for mayor of Somma Vesuviana and city councilor, raises the alarm on the episodes of petty crime that are occurring in the city.
Allocca continues: “The incident occurred in via Aldo Moro which, along with the other streets of Somma Vesuviana, should not be a no man's land, as unfortunately happens. We have a mayor who is a representative of the police force and, consequently, is sensitive to certain issues: I publicly ask him to intervene to start serious security programs for the city. From video surveillance to patrolling the territory, a lot could be done. It is necessary, however, to act quickly. Politics has the duty to guarantee a safe and human-scale city: it owes it to our children and, in general, to the new generations”
