UA new strong earthquake in Greece. It was of magnitude 5.6 and was recorded at 4:59 local time (3:59 in Italy) off the coast of the Greek island of Zakynthos. According to data from the US Geological Survey, the earthquake had a hypocenter at a depth of 10 km and an epicenter 40 km from Lithakia. No damage to people or things has been reported. During the night, however, an earthquake of magnitude 3.1 was recorded at 2:11 in western Sicily, in the province of Trapani. According to data from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the earthquake had a hypocenter at a depth of 13 km and an epicenter 5 km east of Santa Ninfa. No damage to people or things has been reported.
