Real estate assets of Naples: the Court of Auditors also agrees with Romeo

After the Court of Cassation which ruled in favour of Romeo Gestioni four times in one year, the Court of Auditors also closed, with the total acquittal of the Neapolitan company, a dispute which began over eight years ago for alleged damage to the treasury of 100 million euros. With sentence 982/2018 of 10 October last, in fact, the jurisdictional section for Campania of the Court of Auditors (president Dr. Sciascia, rapporteur Dr. Palma, XNUMXst referee Dr. Sciancalepore) definitively acquitted Romeo Gestioni of the contested charges. The Court of Auditors in the reasons for the sentence explains that: “… “Consideration is deserved by the historical fact (… ) of the ratio which determined the Municipality of Naples to entrust the management of the real estate assets to the Company and which, in this case, determined the introduction of a “management incentive” (…), ratio which was an expression of the need to proceed with the regularization of the utilities through the related activity of research, verification and formalization of occupations without charges. unregistered title. The very emergence of such previously unregistered peculiar situations – reiterates the Court of Auditors – therefore constituted the object of the functional contract for the ascertainment of greater revenues deriving from the real estate assets (formalization of the title and determination of the relative claim), in a context in which the Municipality did not have full and formal knowledge of all its debtors or, in any case, was not certain of the status and/or conditions of the rental relationship”.

Romeo Gestioni in a note underlines full satisfaction for the final outcome of the affair "which was also at the center of a virulent and indiscriminate press campaign, and which instead, as always maintained by the Company, was based on nothing and above all on ignorance of the facts and of the administrative and social complexity of the management of the real estate assets of the Municipality of Naples.

Eight long and tormented years, also of very serious damage to its image, with repeated procedural phases and as many progressive acquittals on the merits of the events - Romeo Gestioni further emphasizes - have however allowed us to fully ascertain the truth of the linear, transparent, professional and correct activity of the Company for the entire period of its responsibility in the contract with the Municipality of Naples. To the point of also deserving - as established by this latest sentence - the incentive for good management provided for by the contract. Romeo Gestioni - concludes the company note - therefore cannot fail to underline how this affair, like others born from a prejudice towards its operational and professional capabilities, has instead ended not only with full acquittal, but above all with the absolute, incontrovertible recognition of a role and work, indispensable and certifiable, in favor of the city of Naples, for a long period of its recent history".
