Tbackbreaking work urns, sieve-like organic plants, workplace safety not respected, contract renewal at a standstill: under the hashtag #io ci saro', the protest of doctors, veterinarians and health managers continues in revolt this morning in all the health companies of Campania. Assemblies were held today on the initiative of all the trade unions of the medical, veterinary and health management, at the health companies of the region. A symbolic flash-mob that mobilized the teams of all the hospitals of Campania and also engaged the trade union representatives of the category at the respective offices. The aim of the protest is to draw the point on a dispute that has lasted for months, which unites a national axis with the inconveniences made acute and specific in each Region. Protest that will culminate with the 24-hour national strike on Friday 9 November. Date on which, in Campania, a sit-in of white coats is planned under the headquarters of the Region at Palazzo Santa Lucia in view of the national assembly scheduled in Rome on November 14.
"We intend to defend the prerogatives of equity and universal access to the National Health Service - said Vincenzo Bencivenga, regional secretary of Anaao, the most important medical management union - because while the Regions and the Government argue, Health is in agony. In the next 5 years - adds the union leader - 45 thousand doctors, veterinarians and health managers will be missing where today there are already enormous problems in ensuring the essential levels of assistance with the forces in the field and in particular in the South. Those who pay the price of this situation are the citizens who, however, rather than identifying the political level as the target of an understandable discontent, take it out on the doctors in the trenches who increasingly become the recipients of unacceptable violence. We need to turn the page on unsustainable working conditions, violence that prevents people from going to work with serenity. Which have been addressed so far with a lot of talk, a lot of good will but no concrete action. It is no longer acceptable – concluded Bencivenga (who is a psychiatrist) the precariousness of work and the continuous pursuit of the emergency with public notices and temporary assignments. Health care needs stability and serious planning”.
"We have been fruitlessly engaged for months in Roman roundtables - added Antonio De Falco, leader of Cimo - for the definition of a contract that has been missing for many years and that even just for the regulatory part, leaving aside the financial one, records absurd setbacks and obstacles of all kinds and to a system of norms that should tend to improve the quality of our work and therefore the assistance to citizens". On the same wavelength is the entire source of the inter-union of the medical and veterinary management of Campania that brings together the main representative acronyms of the category. Finger pointed at the limited resources for the Health Service, on the progressive shift of assistance towards the private sector 40 years after the birth of the National Health Service.
