I carabinieri from the Pompei station and the permanent “scavi” post during a service to combat pickpocketing on Circum trains were about to check two gypsies. to avoid trouble the two had resisted by attacking the carabinieri and MarinCciprian, a 27-year-old resident in the Naples camp in via santa maria del pozzo, had been arrested immediately for resisting, violence and injury to a public official; his friend, however, had managed to escape.
Thanks to the analysis of the images taken by the station's cameras and after patient stakeouts, the Carabinieri also arrested the fugitive: Mihai Surubaru, 21, living in Teverola where he was under house arrest for property crimes, was caught in Castellammare in the home of an 18-year-old compatriot. As soon as he found himself in front of the military, he tried to escape again but the attempt was in vain: after a brief fight he was handcuffed. He will answer for resisting arrest and evasion. He is now awaiting direct trial.
