IInfrastructure Minister Danilo Toninelli disputes the thesis of the commissioner for the TAV Paolo Foiella according to which the blocking of the work would cost Italy over two billion in compensation for damages: "All wrong", "from the first signs I would say that it is absolutely not a figure that stands up". A few hours earlier the president of Confindustria had underlined the need to continue with the tunnel. "In the country - said Boccia - we need to put work back at the center of attention. It does not seem to us, starting yesterday with the Turin-Lyon, that we want to go in this direction and open the country to the idea of Europe that we need to be competitive from outside the factory gates and build a richer country in order to reduce the gaps". In the meantime, there are over 24 thousand signatures on the petition for the TAV on Change.org. Promoted by Mino Giachino, undersecretary of Transport in the last Berlusconi government, and by former minister Francesco Forte, the subscriptions have had a real surge with the approval of the M5S document, in the Turin City Council, which asks the government to stop the works for the Turin-Lyon. "Despite the inconsequential and incompetent vote of the Turin City Council, another 10.000 citizens have added their support to the yes TAV petition, and continue. An important and qualified support of people who do not want degrowth but work", comments Giachino.
