IIn view of the international sporting event “Universiade Napoli2019”, today the redevelopment work of the “indoor” gym of the “Palavesuvio” sports complex, located in the Neapolitan neighborhood of Ponticelli, began. The hall of the multipurpose facility on Via Argine will be the theater of artistic and rhythmic gymnastics competitions. The redevelopment started today, for an amount of approximately 2.900.000 euros, represents, it is emphasized in a note, “a first step of a larger project that will immediately concern the entire complex”. An investment, it is noted, “strongly desired by the commissioner structure of the event and by the Municipality of NAPLES”. The works started today at the “indoor” are for the renovation of the roof, the ordinary maintenance of the changing rooms and service rooms, a new lighting system, as well as “the necessary air conditioning system and the renovation of the electrical and hydraulic systems, all essential elements for a concrete compliance of the places” it is highlighted. "In addition to providing, from the point of view of sports facilities, an important setting for the international event - said Commissioner Basile - we are also investing heavily in non-central areas. The Palavesuvio is a historically important facility at the service of the sports community, which must be improved and enhanced". Satisfaction was expressed by the municipal councilor of NAPLES for Sport, Ciro Borriello, for whom "the constant work of discussion and collaboration with the commissioner structure of the Universiade Napoli2019, is starting to bear the hoped-for fruits". "The event - continued Borriello - represents an essential appointment for our city, but it is even more so for the redevelopment of many municipal sports facilities, especially peripheral ones, a historic opportunity. I realize - he concluded - that today a sacrifice is required from the sports clubs that operate on them but, in a few months, we could say that everything will be amply repaid with the result of a certainly more efficient and safe sports facility".
