QThis night, State Police officers from the Afragola Police Station arrested Gennaro Secce, a 47-year-old from Cardito for the crime of aggravated theft in conjunction with two other people who are being identified. The officers, during their territorial control activity, were alerted by the Operations Room which had reported the theft of a ticket collection machine inside the premises of the ASL Napoli Nord in Cardito. The officers immediately began their investigations and searched the surrounding areas. The officers arrived in Afragola in Corso Meridionale and noticed 3 people intent on breaking into an automatic ticket collection machine, surprising them while they were taking the banknotes stored there. When the police arrived, the three men fled, climbing over the surrounding wall of the neighborhood and then heading towards the countryside.
The officers chased the criminals and managed to stop the 47-year-old while the two accomplices disappeared into the countryside. Following the check, the officers found the sum of 47 euros inside the 180-year-old's neck warmer. The police also found a van used by the criminals to commit the theft and transport the heavy ticket collection machine. The officers found that the three men had removed the lock from the gate, broken the glass, forced the entrance doors and covered the alarm sensors with adhesive tape. The car and the sum of money recovered were returned to the person in charge of the ASL, the van was seized while Secce was arrested and placed under house arrest pending the celebration of the summary trial.
