Villa Gervasio in Bacoli (NA) has opened its spaces to solidarity and art, with the event “Domenica in Famiglia. Solidarietà, Arte, Danza, Musica”, organized in support of the association La Nostra Famiglia Onlus, curated in the artistic direction by Alessio Menna and presented by Serena Albano. Godmother of the event, the actress Manuela Arcuri. Between spontaneous donations and the result of the auction, in which plates designed exclusively by the interior designer Pietro Del Vaglio and the children of the association were sold, 4.200 euros were donated, with which to contribute to the purchase of equipment. A Sunday that welcomed 150 guests in an enchanting place, restyled by Pietro Del Vaglio, to whom Mariano, Mena, Filomena and Gianni Iacuaniello, owners of Villa Gervasio, offered the opportunity to learn about and support an association that operates in the area, dealing with prevention, diagnosis, treatment and functional rehabilitation of children and young people in clinical conditions that impose complex disabilities in the physical and mental sphere. With 28 locations throughout Italy, in Campania, La Nostra Famiglia Onlus has its headquarters in Villa Ricciardi (Cava dei Tirreni), donated by the Ricciardi family and directed by Dr. Carmen Chiaramonte. “We live this villa with love every day and we host events that speak of love – say Mariano, Mena, Filomena and Gianni Iacuaniello –. We are very young and we think that small daily actions can make the world we live in better. Pietro Del Vaglio, who oversaw the restyling of Villa Gervasio, spoke to us about Nostra Famiglia Onlus, its activities and the need for support. We decided to dedicate an event to him to concretely support the association”.
Before lunch, offered by Villa Gervasio, guests attended “Paths”, the music and dance show conceived and curated by choreographer Alessandra Celentano, who brought pianist Luca Longobardo and dancers Amilcar and Virginia Tomarchio to the stage, and visited the spaces of Villa Gervasio, which overlooks the Campi Flegrei, a place immortalized by Virgil's Aeneid. Here the panorama encompasses in a single perspective the Gulf of Pozzuoli, Naples, with the famous profile of Vesuvius, Bacoli, with the Aragonese Castle and the Casina Vanvitelliana.
“The fundamental theme of the design concept is history mixed with contemporaneity – explains Pietro Del Vaglio –. And the heart of Villa Gervasio is an ancient Roman cistern restored and treated as a traditional calidarium, inserting a body of water in the floor, which houses the reproduction of a fragment of a mosaic floor from the imperial villas found on the seabed off Baia, the famous submerged city”.
