Michele Gaglione, a former Flai-CGIL union representative at the La Doria plant in Acerra, which was closed on September 30th and whose approximately 70 workers were transferred to the Salerno factories in Angri, Sarno, and Fisciano, was fired for commenting on a friend's Facebook post deemed derogatory to the company. Gaglione's comments were among those posted questioning the validity of the transfer letters sent by the company. All the union representatives at the Salerno plants came out in defense of the delegate, meeting today to decide on a strike day for November 16th and establishing a state of unrest at all three Campania sites, with informational meetings scheduled for next week. The union representative wrote on his Facebook profile today: "I thank everyone who has contacted me since yesterday and who is making themselves available, starting with my union Flai Cgil, with the participation of the National Secretary, the Regional and Provincial secretaries of other unions, the Ministry, the Municipality of Acerra and its councilors, the party group leaders, and the Bishop of Acerra. I thank my colleagues in Acerra for their kind words and for expressing their concern about me. I will choose a path and, as always, I will pursue it with dignity and for the protection of rights... but I will also have to somehow guard against the fact that I have been unemployed since yesterday, and for someone like me who has been working for 20 years, that's not easy."
