Ua note from Palazzo San Giacomo states: “Following the numerous reports received, we are currently proceeding with the removal of advertising posters deemed offensive to the dignity and rights of women, according to the assessments conducted by the Inter-departmental Table for the prevention and contrast of harmful advertising of the Municipality of Naples”. Naples is in fact the first among the large Italian cities to proceed concretely against an advertising campaign that has caused so much outrage and discussion in recent days. “This is a fair result in defense of women and their dignity” declared Panini, deputy mayor of Naples. “I thank the advertising companies, first and foremost Jolly Clear Channel, who are proceeding with diligence in these hours to remove the posters.”
"I thank all the women and associations that with sensitivity and attention have urged the Authority to intervene to remove a poster that is clearly damaging to the dignity of all of us - said Simona Marino, delegate for Equal Opportunities and Anti-Violence Centers of the Municipality of Naples -. I hope that the administrative procedures will be increasingly timely and that the lack of an organic law on the matter will finally be filled so as to prevent the objectification of women's bodies for commercial purposes and uses".
