Dfor months the religious community of the Little House of Nazareth has not found peace. The precedent as everyone knows was the media and now judicial case against Don Michele Barone from which a real religious, sociocultural, judicial earthquake, and more, has arisen.
By now everyone knows the soap opera of the priest accused of abusive exorcism rites, with some horror movie plots. At the same time, on the very day of the World Day against Violence against Women, in the absence of the parish priest Don Vittorio Cumerlato, his predecessor, the veteran Don Luigi Menditto, speaking in church for Sunday Mass, at the premises of the Santa Croce parish, would have committed a gaffe on this delicate issue which in turn would have registered the reaction of the faithful.
The sentence that ended up under accusation is the following: “We pray for women, but which women?”. To most, in addition to a justification, it seemed like pointing the finger at a certain type of woman. Hence the fuss of controversy and gossip that, combined with the previous cases that have hit the community, bring back to this town the cultural problem of the vision of women.
