LRete Difesa Vesuvio expresses concern about the hydrogeological risk in the Vesuvian area and asks that the "precious role" of associations, committees and social entities be recognized and that they be given "the opportunity for active participation capable of influencing decisions that concern the territory". This is what emerged during a meeting with the Environment Commission at the Regional Council of Campania. In the hearing, the members of the Network, engaged in constant monitoring of the Vesuvian area, asked to be able to play a role of full control over the work of the administrations, on planning, on the management of contracts and their execution, but also immediate interventions, coordinated with local communities and active citizens, to secure the territory and deal with the serious situation of hydrogeological instability. And again, fire prevention actions to avoid last summer's disaster and that, alongside the tourist relaunch of the Park area, foreseen by the Great Vesuvius Project, actions are undertaken for the reclamation and restoration of the burnt forests, reforestation and securing of the territory.
