NAt yesterday's hearing in the trial for the death of Francesca Oliva, 29 years old from Gricignano d'Aversa, who died after giving birth to two girls and crying over the death of her third child, her sister-in-law Immacolata Tessitore spoke before the sole judge Roberta Carotenuto and reconstructed what happened on 24 May 2014.
The woman recounted the two-week ordeal Francesca experienced, first in the hospital in Giugliano and then in the Pineta Grande clinic in Castel Volturno. The 29-year-old complained of pain and high fever, symptoms of a uterine infection. The moments spent in the hospital in Giugliano and at Pineta Grande were retraced, where doctors intervened with an emergency cesarean section because one of the babies she was carrying had died some time ago.
In the dock are 14 doctors from the two health facilities: Stefano Addeo, Renato Brembo, Gerardo Buonanno, Vincenzo Cacciapuoti, Gerardo Cardone, Giuseppe Ciccarelli, Giovanni De Carlo, Antonio Della Gala, Giuseppe Delle Donne, Pasquale Favale, Pietro Granata, Giuliano Grasso, Crescenzo Pezone and Antonio Russo.
