Napoli. The Chiaia and Mergellina funiculars will have to suspend service to the public today with the last ride at 14.10 pm. This is the note from the ANM. Today too - we read in the text - as already happened yesterday after the communication of the extension of the central funicular's operating hours during the weekend, the heads of service of the Chiaia and Mergellina funiculars have in fact communicated to the ANM that they cannot work because they are ill. These are three heads of service different from those who had fallen ill yesterday. The Company received the communication around 12 and immediately took action to find replacements: there are 15 heads of service of the funiculars in total but the recall to service is, by contract, on a voluntary basis and all those who were available have stated that they cannot cover the afternoon shift. The unavailability of heads of service therefore prevents, for the second consecutive day, from guaranteeing service to users. The company apologizes to customers and is committed to removing the causes that have determined the sudden inconvenience of these last hours.
