Villa Lanzara opens its doors to host the 8th edition of the “SARNO FILM FESTIVAL”, the event conceived and organized by the cultural association “Il Cantiere dell'Alternativa – Diritti Cinema e Cultura”. The festival will begin on Thursday 29 November at 17:00 pm and will end on Sunday 2 December. The program includes a large number of short, medium and short films, awards, debates, insights, all focused on the theme – Health protection – a right established by Article 32 of the Italian Constitution. Partners of the event: Municipality of Sarno, Province of Salerno, Film Commission – Campania Region; Academy of Fine Arts of Naples, Coordination of Campania Film Festivals (CFCC), School Movie by Enza Ruggiero, Rotary Club Nocera Inferiore – Sarno, ASFF (the first short film festival made by people who recognize themselves in the autistic condition).
This is the program:
Thursday 29 November 2018 – start at 17.00
– REASONABLY DIFFERENT – Cinema to tell the story of neurodiversity.
– Rotary Club Nocera Inf. Sarno with the project “Beyond the Gaze”.
– School Movie and Istituto Comprensivo De Amicis Baccelli – SFF presents and awards the young screenwriters and actors of the Baccelli secondary school for “My life is like a film”, the short film that won the social section of School Movie 2018 at the latest edition of the Giffoni Film Festival.
Friday 30th November starting at 19.00:
– The SFF presents the Technical Jury 2018. Followed by the screening of “Ammore e Malavita” by Antonio and Marco Manetti. At the end of the film Marco Manetti, President of the VIII edition of the SFF, will meet the audience to discuss the film and future projects.
Saturday 1st December start at 19.30 – SFFdoc “Racconto della Realtà” Award
– The winner of the Story of Reality section will be the director and screenwriter Cosimo Damiano Damato with the documentary “Prima Che Il Gallo Canti…Il Vangelo Secondo Andrea”. The evening will be dedicated to the director-poet with a retrospective of the Cineteca Nazionale entitled – Cosimo Damiano Damato: Visions, fantasies, dreams, revolutions, poems and follies. The following screenings will follow: La luna nel deserto (The Moon in the Desert) (Italy 2008); Tu non c'eri (You Were Not There) (Italy, 2016), written by Erri De Luca, directed by Damato and starring Piero Pelù and Brenno Placido.
Sunday 2 December 2018 start at 18.00:
Screening of the finalist short films in the competition and award ceremony for the winner.

The SFF 2018 will close with a debate with Ilaria Cucchi and the Stefano Cucchi Association – Onlus.
Followed by the screening of the film “ON MY SKIN – The last seven days of Stefano Cucchi” (2018) – directed by Alessio Cremonini.
