C42 video surveillance camera stations have been installed in Castel Volturno, in the Caserta area, to combat fires and indiscriminate waste dumping. The video surveillance project, started in 2013 by Prefectural Commissioner Antonio Contarino and then resumed in 2016 by the municipal administration headed by Dimitri Russo with the approval of the final project and the transmission of the documents to the Single Contracting Station, has been concluded with the awarding of the tender. “This is an important result for the Municipality of Castel Volturno, we are ready for the installation,” declared the municipal councilor for Public Works Giuseppe Scialla. “Starting next week,” he continued, “the company awarded the tender will in fact carry out inspections for the final positioning of the cameras. The video surveillance project will also be integrated with the installation of the eco-islands that have arrived in recent days and in general with the distribution plan for the new containers.” The project was funded by the Campania Region, and was obtained in association with the Municipality of Mondragone, for a total value of 470.000 euros, and a total, for Castel Volturno, of 41 installation sites, each identified for the extreme risk of fires, in particular in the localities of Lago Patria in Bagnara. The control center will be set up inside the Municipal Command of the Municipal Police of Castel Volturno.
