A storm surge suddenly made the famous large beach of Positano disappear this morning where every summer celebrities and tourists from all over the world enjoy the sun of the pearl of the Amalfi coast. The fury of the water reached the bars that line the beach. But the shock wave was cushioned by the distance and by the bags that all the local entrepreneurs had put up to protect their businesses. Many fishermen and boatmen in the area had time to pull up their boats before the sea carried them away. The waves also overwhelmed the pier that disappeared under water with each storm surge.
