The Carabinieri Forestry Corps conducted inspections in Naples and its province at 42 businesses, including fishmongers, butchers, artisanal sweets makers, and supermarkets. These inspections focused on frozen seafood, artisanal panettone, chestnuts, dried fruit, and sweets. Seventeen administrative fines were imposed, totaling €15.000. Most were for lack of product traceability. Nine goods were seized. One criminal complaint was filed for commercial fraud, namely false indication of provenance on certain sheep and goat meats. The inspections were also carried out by officers from CITES and NIPAF (Environmental, Agri-food, and Forestry Police Investigative Units).
