The closure of the main road connecting Casamicciola with Lacco Ameno, affected by the landslide of last Thursday, continues. The road was closed again yesterday by the mayor of Casamicciola, at the request of the Metropolitan City which is eliminating some points from the ridge considered at risk of landslides. For this reason, the schools of Casamicciola and Lacco Ameno remain closed. The high schools in the Municipality of Ischia will be closed again tomorrow. "The mayor of Ischia Enzo Ferrandino - a note informs - has ordered the suspension of teaching activities of the high schools present in the territory of the Municipality of Ischia, also for the day of Wednesday 30 January". In Barano d'Ischia, the mayor Dionigi Gaudioso has ordered the evacuation of two homes after the intervention of the firefighters called by the owners of the homes due to small landslides that occurred nearby. “Given the communication from the Provincial Fire Brigade Command of Naples - reads the note from Gaudioso - from which it emerges that, following a visual inspection of the areas affected by the event that occurred approximately 50 meters from two homes, it is necessary, in order to protect public and private safety, to order the non-passability of the buildings in via Regina Elena, number 37A and 37, and the surrounding areas, and to implement monitoring and verification activities of the evolution of the landslide in progress”.
