“The Queen” Investigation: All Sent to Trial. Bid Rigging and External Competition in Camorra Association

“The Queen”, This is the decision of the preliminary hearing judge Comella of the Naples court for the request for the indictment of the defendants in the investigation “The Queen”. At the end of the hearing of the defendants, the judge issued the indictment order as requested by the public prosecutor. The investigation involved 45 people. Among the defendants, the former regional councilor Pasquale Sommese, the former mayors of Alife Giuseppe Avecone, of Riardo Nicola D'Ovidio, the current mayor of Aversa Enrico de Cristofaro. The defendants are accused, to varying degrees, of corruption, bid-rigging and external participation in a Camorra association (only for some of the defendants). The entire investigation revolves around the Neapolitan engineer Guglielmo La Regina from whom the operation took its name. Under the lens of the DDA of Naples are faked some contracts that white-collar criminals would have rigged to favor companies of the Zagaria family of the Casalesi clan.
