The boss of the Spanish Quarters, Eduardo Saltalamacchia, believed to be the head of the new gang that has declared war on the Marianos for control of illicit business, is under arrest. Yesterday morning the prosecutor's office issued an arrest warrant executed by the third section of the Naples Flying Squad against the 36-year-old clan leader, Gaetano Esposito, Massimo Capasso and Ciro Burraccione. They are accused of extortion, robbery and aggravated assault using mafia methods. According to the charges, the four allegedly demanded that a man hand over a scooter, accusing him of having commissioned the theft himself. They wanted to kill him because they believed he was responsible for the theft. The alleged events date back to October 2 of last year. The victim of the attack was also punched and slapped, and a purse containing 20 euros and other personal effects was taken from her (hence the robbery charge). The four arrested will appear before the judge this morning for the validation hearing.
