Brusciano. A city council meeting will take place in the street in response to yet another "stesa" (a shooting). The decision was made by Brusciano's mayor, Giuseppe Montanile, in light of yesterday's shooting in the streets of the historic center, the latest in a series of "criminal acts." The city council will meet in an open-air public area on Via Giovanni Falcone, near the De Filippo-De Ruggiero Comprehensive School: the agenda will focus on "security, legality, and crime." Montanile explains that this is "not an act of courage, but simply the most appropriate response a good administrator can give to his community. I have invited not only all the people of Brusciano to participate, but my invitation is extended to regional councilors, representatives of institutions, the church, and civil society, and to all administrators of neighboring municipalities who, like me, experience daily security issues in their communities."
Yesterday, as soon as he heard the news of yet another intimidating raid, Montanile went with the city police to the scene and personally called the Carabinieri: "While waiting - says Montanile - I reassured passers-by and spoke to those present. When the police arrived, the situation was already under control from the point of view of traffic. Thanks to the help of the surveillance cameras that monitor the streets of the center, it will be possible to reconstruct more easily what happened. I hope that the investigations of the Carabinieri, with the help of the municipal police and with the maximum availability of the institutions that I represent, will lead us to the truth", he concludes.
