€4.450.736,58 for video surveillance is on its way to municipalities in Campania. This funding comes from the latest call for proposals, as explained by the Interior Ministry. This is just the first step, as the government has already allocated another €90 million under the Security Decree. This additional financial effort is intended to increase the number of municipalities involved throughout Italy. The goal is to improve territorial control, with particular attention to smaller towns. Currently, €160.532,53 will be allocated to the province of Avellino, €3.650.569,75 to the province of Caserta, and €639.634,30 to the province of Naples. Regarding this, Interior Minister Matteo Salvini commented: "We promised attention and greater security to local communities. The funding for video surveillance systems goes in this direction and is in addition to the urban security fund for large cities. In this way, I confirm our determination to combat all forms of illegality, from petty crime to large-scale drug dealing centers. And now, in anticipation of the warmer weather, we are renewing the Safe Beaches operation to combat illegal commercial activity and counterfeiting in more than one hundred tourist municipalities." Finally, Salvini added: "We are also attentive to the economic growth of the region: we have allocated €400 million to municipalities with fewer than 20 inhabitants, and provided funds to the provinces of the ordinary statute regions for the maintenance of schools and roads. All decisions come after years of indiscriminate cuts. From words to action."
