Naples. Officers from the San Paolo and Bagnoli police stations this morning arrested Agonu Christophe Koblavi, a 38-year-old Togolese man, accused of assaulting a young man and subsequently assaulting and resisting a public officer. Acting on orders from the local operations room, around 8:00 a.m., officers approached a 20-year-old Italian man on the corner of Via Giustiniano and Viale Traiano. He had requested police assistance because he had been attacked—for no reason—by a black non-EU citizen, approximately 1.70-1.80 m tall, wearing dark jeans, a black jacket, and sneakers. The man then fled toward Via Cassiodoro. The victim claimed that the man was brandishing a metal stick and was carrying a blue bag. The officers they immediately started looking for the man and immediately tracked him down on via Cassiodoro corner of via Giustiniano. As soon as they tried to approach the young man threw the iron stick at them, which he promptly recovered and ran away towards via Mario Gigante where he was stopped. He was particularly agitated and when they reached him and invited him to calm down, he attacked the police officers who had a hard time stopping him, so much so that two officers were injured. For this reason he was arrested and taken to the police station's holding cells. He will be tried with a direct trial.
