Using the streets and the most suggestive views of the town as scenes of a theater. It is with this goal that the Municipality of Castellabate proposes two pleasant guided tours as part of "Il Luogo dell'Incanto", the cultural event co-financed by POC Campania 2014/2020. The theatrical performance, with the evocative title "Jus primae noctis", leads through alleys and little-known historic buildings for a truly engaging costume show. It starts from the historic center, Saturday 30 March at 20:30 pm, with a gathering at the San Costabile belvedere, through an itinerary that includes Porta de li Bovi, Piazza Perrotti, the Cathedral, Palazzo Matarazzo, Piazza Caduti di Kos. It is repeated with a new setting, that of San Marco, on Sunday 31 March at 19:30 pm with a gathering in Via Marina for a visit to the port and the historic Villa de Angelis. The actors will entertain the audience for about an hour on the theme of "love and death in the Cilento Middle Ages" with the text by Amedeo Colella, humorist and writer of the "Cultura Nova" Association. The performers Otello Carratù, Mariella Boiano, Orlando di Scola, Marco Ciullo, Amedeo Colella, with costumes by Alessandra Morelli, will transport the spectators to a distant era. The plot of the opera is in fact inspired by an ancient legend: it is said that around the first half of 1700 a farmer organized a plan to kill the Lord of the fiefdom who claimed the right to the first night. To avoid the misfortune that fell on his marriage, the protagonist meets a series of characters to whom he asks for intercession: Gioacchino Murat, Giovanbattista Vico, the abbot of Cava, the lawyer Cardone, the De Angelis brothers, the bandits. The walk lasts about an hour, does not require reservations and is completely free. The councilor for tourism and culture Luisa Maiuri on the March events: “Our review of low-season shows continues, organized by the Department of Tourism and Culture together with the artistic director Girolamo Marzano. The theatrical walks will amaze the tourists who come to our town at the weekend to enjoy its enchantment, with a truly innovative format. It is not, as happens in the theater, the scene that changes on stage but it is the audience that moves from one scene to another. In this way the comedy enhances evocative contexts and places and offers a unique scenario to the spectator”.
