The Control Room chaired by the person in charge of combating the phenomenon of fires in the Campania region, has ordered extraordinary joint control operations in the municipalities of San Tammaro, Santa Maria Capua Vetere, Mugnano di Napoli, Casoria, Polvica di Nola and Marano di Napoli. 31 crews were in the field, for a total of 81 units belonging to the "Campania" Group of the Army, the Naval Air Operations Department of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples, the State Police of the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Police Station, the Guardia di Finanza of the Capua Company, the Carabinieri of the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Station, the Metropolitan Police of Naples, the Provincial Police of Caserta, the Local Police of the Municipalities of Naples, Arzano, Casandrino, Santa Maria Capua Vetere, Mugnano di Napoli, Casoria, Melito di Napoli, Polvica di Nola and Marano di Napoli, as well as ARPAC and the ASL of Caserta.
An important contribution in identifying and confirming the objectives was provided by the Army Drones. The systems, used by the soldiers of the Campania Group and available to the control room of the prefecture, allow to monitor from above the territories of the "Land of Fires" and thus integrate the already constant patrolling activity conducted on the ground, giving greater effectiveness to the action to combat illegal waste disposal.
Six commercial and business activities operating in the waste disposal and storage, textile manufacturing and mechanical sectors were checked (6 were seized); 3 people were also checked (72 reported to the judicial authorities and 5 administratively sanctioned) and 9 vehicles (of which 108 were seized); administrative sanctions for approximately 66 euros were contested.
