Cow's milk mozzarella passed off as DOP: twelve requests for conviction against as many defendants, targeted by the Carabinieri investigation into the Cantile dairy in Sparanise. The closing speech of prosecutor Pannone of the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prosecutor's office took place yesterday, asking for severe sentences against the defendants, accused to varying degrees of adulteration of mozzarella, dumping waste in the Regi Lagni and criminal association.
The group's leader, 'Cronache di Caserta' reports, was Guido Cantile. The prosecutor has requested eight years in prison for the San Cipriano d'Aversa businessman. Six years each for his sons Pasquale and Luigiantonio Cantile, and five and a half years for Luigi Bacco and Giuseppe Genovese. For their contributions to the criminal organization, the prosecutor has requested four and a half years each for Paola Mormile, Assunta Di Caprio, Eleana Micillo, Antonio Di Feo, Amedeo Fasulo, Agostino Verde, and Luigi Cammisa.
