Naples. Tomorrow at 12 noon, a large new street art work will be inaugurated in the Rione Luzzatti district (near Piazza Lo Bianco). This work marks the beginning of a program of artistic redevelopment and social regeneration planned for this working-class neighborhood on the eastern outskirts of Naples, also known for the events of the best-selling novel "My Brilliant Friend."
Started at the beginning of 2018 as a fundraiser, the project saw the participation of the students of the “Ruggiero-Bonghi” Comprehensive Institute who, inspired by reading Elena Ferrante's novel, sent a drawing to the well-known street artist Gomez for the development of the work.
The project, which aims to create a real “Rione dei Murales” in the neighborhood, replicating the model already tested in the “Parco dei Murales” in Ponticelli, was coordinated by INWARD – National Observatory on Urban Creativity and is promoted by NAStartUP, in collaboration with the condominium of via Giuseppe Buonocore Isol. 39 and with the moral patronage and authorization of the president of Municipality 4 of the City of Naples.
