Initiatives for the little ones in the Vesuvian archaeological sites are underway: on June 13th Geronimo Stilton at the Pompeii excavations

A year after his first visit and after intense work alongside the students of twelve comprehensive institutes of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Torre Annunziata, Trecase and Naples, Geronimo Stilton, the most beloved mouse journalist by children around the world, returns to the excavations of Pompeii to present the new maps and the guide of the Unesco site 829 "Archaeological areas of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Torre Annunziata", dedicated to children and teenagers. Thursday 13 June at the Teatro Piccolo of the Pompeii excavations the final result of the activities will be presented.
Speakers will include: the interim Director of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, Alfonsina Russo; Professor Massimo Osanna together with the Director of the Great Pompeii Project, General Mauro Cipolletta; the Director of the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum, Francesco Sirano; Laura Acampora of the General Secretariat of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities – Service I, UNESCO Office of the Mibac; Elena Pagliuca of the Permanent Observatory of the Historic Center of Naples - UNESCO site; Rachele Geraci of Atlantyca, Head of Cultural Events and Relations with Institutions and, of course, Geronimo Stilton, protagonist and author of the editorial series published in Italy by Edizioni Piemme and in 49 other languages ​​around the world and of the cartoons broadcast on RAI, here present in fur and whiskers together with the students and teachers of the classes participating in the project. The maps will be distributed at the entrances of the three sites, together with the guide that will be distributed in this first phase free of charge. Entrance to the presentation event is open to visitors, until all seats are taken (max. 150). Geronimo Stilton was the exceptional testimonial of the educational project  "Educational training itinerary among the sites of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Torre Annunziata, Naples” aimed at young citizens of the UNESCO site, financed with funds from L. 77/2006 (law for “special measures for the protection and enjoyment of Italian sites of cultural, landscape and environmental interest, included in the “World Heritage List” under the protection of UNESCO). The project – carried out in collaboration with the Permanent Observatory of the Historic Center of Naples - a UNESCO site – had the objective of increasing awareness and sensitivity among young people towards world cultural heritage, also through the observation of conservation and enhancement techniques. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with Atlantyca Entertainment, the Milanese company that manages the international publishing, animation and licensing rights of the Geronimo Stilton character.
