As part of the Benvenuti al Rione Sanità event and in collaboration with Upside and Fondazione di Comunità San Gennaro, the last event of the Take Me To Church event organized by Apogeo Records will be held on Sunday 23 June at 20,30:XNUMX pm. Closing the musical event, in the splendid setting of the Nuovo Teatro Sanità (piazzetta San Vincenzo 1 – Rione Sanità), will be Alessio Arena with the open act of Flamenco Napuleño. Alessio Arena will present his latest album ATACAMA!, an inner journey that tells of the return home, through sometimes hostile and impervious territories. Arena's work is located halfway between the singer-songwriter and the most visceral world music. The young chansonnier from the Rione Sanità in Naples composes emotional songs that articulate a very personal and poignant landscape, which manages to be both desert and flowery at the same time. Mirror of a gentle and refined soul in constant search of its own world. Alessio, after completing his literary studies in Italy, moved to Spain, where he published his first EP Autorretrato de ciudad invisible which began his career as a singer and composer. He is the author of the novels “L'infanzia delle cose” (Giuseppe Giusti Opera Prima Award), “Il mio cuore è un mandarino acerbo”, “La letteratura tamil a Napoli” (second place at the Neri Pozza Award), the short novel, “La casa girata” and “La notte non vuole venire” (Fandango libri) inspired by the life of the Neapolitan singer Gilda Mignonette who emigrated to America. As a translator from Spanish he won the “Premio Letteraria 2017” for foreign fiction in translation. Winner of the 2014th edition of Musicultura, Festival of popular and authorial songs, and AFI award for best recording project, at the beginning of XNUMX he published his first multilingual album, Bestiari(o) familiar(e), recorded between Naples and Barcelona, where he lives. The same year the album was among the candidates for the Targa Tenco as best debut and Arena was among the winners of the Area Sanremo competition, chosen by a jury chaired by Mogol. In Spain he collaborates on the albums of pianist Clara Peya and singer-songwriter Marina Rossell. He is the only Italian, together with Laura Pausini, to have recorded a song in Catalan on the album La Marató de Tv3, the Catalan version of the Telethon marathons. In 2016 the album La secreta danza was released, written and performed by Arena in Spanish, Catalan and Italian. The album made stops in Madrid, Barcelona, Prague, Santiago de Chile and Montevideo. Diablada, a song of hope inspired by the traditional rhythms of Northern Chile but with an urban and Neapolitan sound, is the single that precedes what will be the new album. On May 3, 2019 Alessio Arena released Atacama!, his new album. This fourth album contains Diablada, a song released in 2017 and preceded by five other singles including Amor circular and Atacama, which feature two major international guests: Colombian Marta Gómez and Chilean Manuel García.
