On Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at 8:00 p.m., in Salerno, in the splendid setting of the YACHTING CLUB SALERNO (Marina – Molo Masuccio Salernitano), as part of the official program of the 13th edition of the "Mediterranean Book Festival – InCostieraAmalfitana," Filippo Cannizzo's book "Crumbs of Beauty. Dialogues of Hope for the Future of the Bel Paese" will be presented.
After the prestigious speech by Filippo Cannizzo last week during the UNESCO Creative Cities Conference Fabriano 2019, the promotional tour of the book continues from Salerno, which saw the author present “Briciole di Bellezza. Dialogues of hope for the future of the Bel Paese” in 9 Regions and 24 Italian Provinces, with 35 initiatives held in a few weeks (including participation in the XIII UNESCO Creative Cities Conference Fabriano 2019, UMBRIA LIBRI 2018, BOOK PRIDE 2018, Human Festival 2019 and numerous initiatives in the official program of Maggio dei Libri 2019); in the coming months the tour of book presentations will continue even more intensely, from the north to the south of the Peninsula, including the islands. The book, published on September 27, 2018 and winner of the first edition of the “Per la Filosofia” award, through an original style in which narrative merges with essays, tells of a journey through the fragility of Italy's beauty, between difficulties and possible solutions, proposing to indicate a possible path to follow to give a future to the Bel Paese: the path traced by the beauty of the Italian peninsula. Beauty understood as a living, widespread element present in Italy. Beauty as sharing, care of art and culture, environmental sustainability. Beauty as a possibility of progress, growth and work for the country.
For each of the issues addressed in the development of the narrative (environment, education, work, violence against women, health and many others) possible solutions are proposed, concrete and supported by specific studies on the individual themes. “Briciole di Bellezza. Dialogues of hope for the future of the Bel Paese” is a declaration of love for Italy, an incentive not to give up in the face of attempts to disfigure the profile and soul of the Bel Paese.
The unexpected sales success, that of over two thousand five hundred copies sold in less than eight months from publication, has made Filippo Cannizzo's book, "Briciole di Bellezza. Dialogues of hope for the future of the Bel Paese" an editorial case. Filippo Cannizzo is a philosopher and university researcher, he has taught in Bologna, Naples, Rome and, after having collaborated with the Luigi Sturzo Institute and the Ugo Spirito Foundation, he directed the ICC Castelli; he was among the promoters and creators of the Festival of Philosophy in Ciociaria.
A book to read, a book to talk about, a book dedicated to those who do not want to give up the commitment to change this country, because only from beauty (perhaps) will the future be born one day. During the initiative, the prestigious international artistic and literary “Scriptura” Award will be presented to Filippo Cannizzo, author of the book “Briciole di Bellezza. Dialogues of hope for the future of the Bel Paese”. The XIII Edition of the “Mediterranean Book Festival – InCostieraAmalfitana” has the patronage of the European Commission, UNICEF Italy, the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, the Touring Club Salerno, the UNPLI provincial Salerno, and the Amalfi Coast Tourist District.
