A street vendor of fruit and vegetables was caught, identified and fined by the municipal police for illegally abandoning waste in the middle of nature. The incident occurred this morning, Wednesday, in Marina di Camerota. It was the superintendent of the municipal police, Giovanni Cammarano, who discovered the deposit of wooden and plastic crates in a rest area along the road that connects the Marina district to the capital Camerota. Cammarano himself immediately contacted the mayor Mario Salvatore Scarpitta and applied the directives. The superintendent tracked down the person responsible for the crime in via Bolivar and invited him to clean up the area, which was soon reclaimed. After that, the street vendor was identified and fined, applying the regulation included in the mayoral ordinance signed by the mayor. "Whoever comes to our territory must respect our rules. We are and will always be intransigent on environmental protection and on these wicked actions" underlines the mayor. Furthermore, the possibility of permanently removing the street vendor from the municipal territory of Camerota is being evaluated.
