Napoli. He told the police that he had reacted to a robbery and that he had been shot for this reason. But his criminal record and his surname immediately pointed to the possibility of a Camorra ambush, or rather a cross-party vendetta. Because the offender wounded last night in Miano is Luigi Torino, 41 years old, son of the former boss Salvatore, known as o' gassusaro, who has been a collaborator of justice for over ten years and before that a Camorra boss in the Sanità district and protagonist of a bloody feud with the Missos. He was wounded in the calf and abdomen while, in Corso Secondigliano, according to what he told the police, he was approached by two people riding a scooter who attempted to rob him. He was taken to the Cardarelli hospital and his version did not convince the investigators who began to investigate. Previously, the police had received reports of gunshots in via Marsala, in the area between Scampia and Miano, and then a 9mm Beretta pistol, four shell casings and an abandoned and stolen motorbike were found in the Rione San Gaetano, inside a manhole. Shortly after 21pm the other evening, some residents of via Marsala, a small side street of via Janfolla, reported gunshots to the operations centre. A patrol car from the 'Scampia' police station arrived on site, but found no traces of the shooting. It was thought to be a false alarm, but after about an hour another phone call explained that someone had hidden a weapon inside a manhole in via Janfolla. This time, the checks were positive. The officers recovered a 9x21 calibre semi-automatic pistol and also found 4 shell casings and some
traces of blood while, a few meters away, the police find a scooter that subsequent checks show as stolen. Not even a quarter of an hour later, Torino shows up at the 'Cardarelli' emergency room. The 41-year-old criminal has been free for just over a year, and is said to have tried to carve out an autonomous space for himself in Miano with the criminal power vacuum created after the beheading of the Lo Russos and clashing with the Cifrone-Perfettos. And for this he is said to have been punished. Whoever opened fire did not intend to kill him since the shots hit his private parts. Now the investigators are trying to identify Luigi Torino's relationships by reading chats, phone calls and messages. Understanding who he was in 'business' with and above all deciphering whose toes he stepped on so much as to trigger the decision to punish him with lead shots.
