“Naples and Campania can be a national laboratory on Confiscated Assets, because here the Revenge of the State begins. With the national coordination we decided that this should be the theme that should characterize the reflections in Campania". Thus Carmine Mocerino, president of the Regional Anti-Camorra and Confiscated Property Commission of Campania, for the day organized in Naples by the 'Coordination of Commissions and Observers on the fight against organized crime and the promotion of legality of the Regions and Autonomous Provinces', at the headquarters of the Regional Council. The coordination first met in Council and then visited the Masseria Ferraioli in Afragola, a property seized from the Camorra. The initiative was born from the 'Regional Commission for Anti-Camorra and Confiscated Assets', directed by Carmine Mocerino, with Enza Amato vice president and Vincenzo Viglione secretary, useful for a 360-degree reflection on the topic. The day began with greetings from Rosa D'Amelio, President of the Regional Council of Campania and Coordinator of the Conference of the Presidents of the Regional Councils, and Donatella PORZI President of the Regional Council of Umbria and delegate of the Conference for Coordination. Present were Maria Vittoria De Simone, National Deputy Prosecutor for Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism, Fabio Giuliani, Regional Representative of the Campania Libera Association, Don Tonino Palmese President of the Polis Foundation, Renato Natale Vice President of the Avviso Pubblico Association. And also the Presidents of the Commissions and Regional Observers for Anti-Mafia and Legality of the Italian Regions. Bruno Pigozzo (Vice President of the Council Veneto Regional Council) Monica Forte (President of the Special Anti-Mafia Commission of Lombardy), Rosa Barone (President pro tempore of the Regional Commission for the Study and Inquiry into the Phenomenon of Organized Crime – Puglia Regional Council), Arturo Bova (President of the Commission against the 'Ndrangheta – Calabria Regional Council), Donatella Porzi (President of the Umbria Legislative Assembly), Paolo Pietrangelo (Director General of the Conference of Presidents), Rodolfo Lena (President of the 1st Commission for Constitutional Affairs, Participation, Human Resources, Fight against Crime, Anti-Mafia Lazio). The academic world also guaranteed its presence, with the speeches of Professor Marco Esposito, Director of the Department of Law at the University of Naples Parthenope, and Professor Carla Pansini, Director of the 2nd level Master's Degree in 'Prevention of the Risks of Criminal Infiltration in Economic Activities, Management, Administration and Reuse of Confiscated Assets'. “Campania was chosen for several reasons. Because here - Mocerino relaunched - the number of assets taken away from crime and returned to the community is among the highest in the country, because here in Campania there is cutting-edge legislation, which must always be improved, because the collaboration with the National Agency produces good results, because here there are true excellences". For Mocerino "We have an important heritage that Local Authorities and Associations, Cooperatives and volunteers, make available to third sector entities in order to promote projects of inclusion and local development. Projects to promote work, to support those most in need. This is the point on which, more than others, we must insist. Crime is fought with institutional collaboration, with the irreplaceable commitment of the police, with the courage of magistrates and, allow me, with the story of good. With good examples that must be contagious." "We must react to the narrative of evil, legitimate because everything must be told, but it is another thing to idealize evil. We have to do something else because something else lives in our communities.  We must give good examples to the kids, to the youngest – he underlined. Heroic stories of those who take a good from organized crime, from the Camorra, and return it to the community”. Clear ideas “From here we must relaunch. I imagine a more efficient regulatory system to decline these commitments of ours. On the one hand we need to harmonize regional legislation, the risk is that each Region legislates on its own, with the national one and on the other introduce more streamlined mechanisms for the recovery and valorization of assets". And again "Then there is another game that must start from here.  The State's Revenge must be told, and we must work in this direction, concludes Mocerino.
