“I am informing you of my self-suspension from the Democratic Party until this matter is clarified.” This is what the Democratic MP, Luca Lotti, wrote in a post on Facebook in which he directly addresses the party secretary Nicola Zingaretti, responding to the requests for self-suspension that came from some leaders in light of the investigation into the appointments to the prosecutors’ offices. “I am doing this not because some moralist without morals today asked me to step down. No. I am doing this out of respect and affection for the members of the Democratic Party, whom I love, and because I want to show them that I have nothing to hide and no fear of waiting for the truth,” Lotti added.
