Summer lights up in Castellabate with a rich program of quality events that will liven up the holiday atmosphere in the area in every hamlet of the municipality and that will see a succession of evenings with prestigious personalities from the world of entertainment, cinema and culture. The events, organized by the Department of Tourism and Culture, led by Deputy Mayor Luisa Maiuri, with the operational support of the Head of the Office of Tourism and Cultural Promotion Enrico Nicoletta, will all be free to enter and will alternate with the many initiatives organized by local associations. It starts with the Music Festival, which will liven up the historic center of Castellabate to welcome the arrival of summer, on June 21st. Don't miss the Castellabate Film Festival cinema village, an experience for children and young people with the award ceremony for short films made by students of the Castellabate comprehensive institute, in Piazza Lucia on June 22nd. Appointment Saturday 29 June, on Corso Matarazzo between shopping and entertainment, with the preview of the Notte Blu, and on 11 July with the Notte Blu evening, to also celebrate the recognition of the 21st consecutive Blue Flag. The “Metti una sera con…” review is back, given the great success of previous editions, an entertainment lounge with celebrities, which this year will see, in the small Caduti del Mare square in Santa Maria, the charming actor Massimo Boldi on July 13th and the charming Claudia Gerini on August 4th. The appointment with the Pio Alferano Award is a consolidated reality and, in the Castello dell'Abate on July 20th, it will see the presence of numerous faces from the worlds of cinema, politics, business and culture awarded with the prestigious recognition, assigned by the Pio Alferano Foundation and Virginia Ippolito, among which the actor Michele Placido stands out. The Prize will be accompanied by exhibitions set up in the medieval rooms, curated by the well-known art critic Vittorio Sgarbi, with important artists who will enrich the rooms of the Castello dell'Abate with their works. And more events, moments of theatre, music and open-air entertainment with the concert of the Cilento Youth Wind Orchestra, on 25 July on the suggestive Belvedere dei Trezeni a Lago, the show “Sì viaggiare” a tribute to the late singer-songwriter Lucio Battisti, scheduled in Piazza Comunale in San Marco on 8 August. Great event on the Marina Piccola beach of Santa Maria with Giuliano Palma, his live concert will unleash the audience on Sunday 18 August. On Ferragosto, as per tradition at the stroke of midnight, the sky of Castellabate will light up with colorful flashes with the eagerly awaited fireworks display over the sea. Music at the Castello dell'Abate on the evenings of August 24, 27, 28 and 29 for the consolidated cultural event “Castellabate il posto dell’incanto”, which will host various high-profile artists, Le Rondinella, with the show “Lontano nel Sud”, Walter Ricci, Le Capinere with “Variegato”, the trio composed of Antonio Onorato, Gerald Cannon and Mario De Paola. The entertainment offering throughout the summer will be enriched by the Summer Craft Markets, the Southern Books Cultural Festival, sports competitions and the many evenings organised by the local tourist, cultural and recreational associations, with the patronage of the Municipality of Castellabate. “Also this summer Castellabate presents events for all tastes that will provide moments of relaxation also thanks to the participation of well-known faces from the world of entertainment, cinema, music and entertainment. An important calendar of events, enriched also by the many initiatives that the associations present in the territory carry out with commitment every year”, declares the Councilor for Tourism and Culture Luisa Maiuri: “The promotional brand Castellabate the place of enchantment continues, which from 19 December 2018 continues without stopping, also incorporating the events of the Christmas calendar, in order to finally start a path of deseasonalization”.
