In the municipality of Castellabate, music and the beginning of summer are celebrated in grand style. The historic center of one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, Friday 21 June, on the longest day of the year, the summer solstice, starting at 18:30 pm until late midnight will come alive with sounds and emotions with the twenty-fifth edition of the "Festa della Musica - Musica Fuori dal Centro". The event organized by the Department of Tourism and Culture, coordinated by the head of the office for tourism and cultural promotion, Enrico Nicoletta, in close synergy with the Santa Cecilia di Castellabate band concert coordinated by Osvaldo Capezzuto, enjoys the patronage of the European Commission, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, SIAE, the Italian Association for the Promotion of the Music Festival and the Italian Phonographic Association. A large spontaneous and free event that will involve many musical groups that will invade the historic center with every musical genre - from classical to pop, from electronic to jazz, from blues to rock - playing, dancing and singing in the characteristic alleys, on the panoramic Belvedere San Costabile and in the famous little square of Benvenuti al Sud. The evening's program is rich, and fully recalls the theme chosen this year by MiBAC "Music Outside the Center", starting with the opening and official presentation at 18:30 pm in Piazza Perrotti and with the performance of the Body Dance dance school. It will follow at 20 pm on the Belvedere San Costabile to enjoy the wonderful natural spectacle of the sunset, the concert of the orchestra of the Parmenide di Vallo della Lucania and A. high schools. Gatto di Agropoli, composed of 80 elements and directed by maestro Alessandro Schiavo. Furthermore, between open spaces and alleys, a path of sounds and emotions will be brought to life: from 21pm on the Beato Simeone steps, the guitars and mandolins of “Stem”, in the Guglielmo I il Normanno open space “The young musicians of the Castellabate civic music school”, directed by maestro Costabile Franciulli, fresh from the success obtained in Matera at the Lams Prize – 30th musical performance competition, while in the Amendola open space the guitar of “Il Russo live”. From 22pm in Piazza Perrotti “Amnesia live band” followed by “Assumma live DJ set”. The Councilor for Tourism and Culture, Luisa Maiuri, states regarding the event of international importance: “It is the first time that our municipality participates in the European music festival and we have decided to open the summer season, dotted with cultural events, with this triumph of live and synchronous shows that will lead the spectator into a full immersion in singing and instrumental music and that will officially kick off the summer of 2019. Thanks go to the many musicians who will perform, adhering with commitment to the event. Castellabate has an excellent, long-standing musical tradition thanks to the presence of the civic music school and the Santa Cecilia concert band, a significant cultural reality that we intend to further enhance through this type of initiative."
