Castellammare, “European Music Festival”: applause for Maestro Francesco Greco’s Big Band

The "European Music Festival" symbolically celebrates the success of the Castellammare di Stabia Big Band, directed by Maestro Francesco Greco. The young musicians of the jazz band took center stage, earning applause from the large audience at the prestigious location of the Bourbon Palace in Portici. Taking the stage: Bianco Andrea (Alto Sax 1), Mauriello Cristina (Alto Sax), D'Auria Carolina (Alto Sax 2), Pesante Francesco (Alto Sax 2), Sansone Gennaro (Tenor Sax), Rance Jean (Baritone Sax), Ruggieri Samuele (flute), Alfani Carlo (trumpet 1), Ammora Domenico (trumpet 1), Aprea Emanuele (trumpet 2), Abagnale Giuseppe (trumpet 2), D'Auria Gaetano (trumpet 3), Buonocore Francesco (trumpet 3), Esposito Nicola (trumpet 4), Fuccillo Michelly (trumpet 4), Raiola Michele (trombone), Fusco Umberto (horn 1), Di Riso Francesco (horn 2), Coppola Christian (drums), Luca Aprea (percussion) and Paoletti Camilla (electric bass). Accompanying the band were Maestro and Orchestra Director Alfredo Intagliato on piano and Maestro Francesco Scelzo on guitar, who performed a solo that enhanced the pieces played by the group: "Mambo No. 5" by P. Prado, "Oye Como Va" by T. Puente, and "Tributo a Duke Ellington" by D. Ellington. Multi-instrumentalist Maestro Giuseppe D'Antuono coordinated all the musical and singing activities held simultaneously at the Herculaneum archaeological site and the Virtual Archaeological Museum. The 25th edition of the regional music festival featured students from the eleven music and dance high schools in the Metropolitan City of Naples. Starting, in fact, from the Francesco Severi high school in Castellammare di Stabia, Melissa Bassi of Naples, Francesco Grandi of Sorrento, Giuseppe Moscati of Sant'Antimo, Margherita di Savoia of Naples, Bruno Munari of Acerra, Francesco Severi of Castellammare di Stabia, Giampiero Albertini of Nola, Rosmini of Palma Campania, Pitagora-Croce of Torre Annunziata, the U. Boccioni Palizzi music and dance high school in Naples and the E. Pascal dance high school in Pompeii.
