Castellammare. While the city center takes a breath of fresh air after the waste emergency, the outskirts are drowning. It is a health emergency, as complained by the frequenters of the park on the Boschi di Quisisana. Waste piled up everywhere, even invading the roadway. A sign that – write the citizens – “neither on Thursday, the day in which the undifferentiated waste was collected, nor on Friday, the collection workers took the road that leads to the Boschi di Quisisana. A blow to the eye and a punch to the stomach for the degradation and the bad smell that, thanks to the strong heat, has become unbearable. “This too is Castellammare and it is a disgrace that the entrance to the Reggia is swept and no action is taken to remove the piles that lie higher up – complain the citizens of the upper outskirts. Enormous black bags and bags of every color have been piling up non-stop during the day. There are – say the citizens – piles of waste that even overwhelm the retaining walls. We ask the Environment Councilor and the Mayor to ensure that urgent action is taken."
