Appointment tomorrow at 12 at the Circumvesuviana station in Ponticelli, to present the restyling of the site with the works designed by seven street artists. An initiative - born from an idea by Luca Danza who had already collaborated on the creation of the works in the Cumana line station in Bagnoli - aimed at revitalizing and animating the station and sharing it with the citizens of the Ponticelli neighborhood, also giving space to youthful creativity. Nature (and its strength) is the chosen theme, "with a view to giving life to the gray and cold walls of the station, as well as giving the hope of 'surviving' the adversities and daily difficulties", explains the president of Eav, Umberto De Gregorio. All the material necessary for the creation of the works was completely self-financed by the young artists, with no expense paid by EAV. About two months of organization (site inspections, artist research, authorizations, etc.) and 230 hours of work allowed the “rebirth” of the train station: in addition to the street art, the site was completely redeveloped by the company that holds a regular maintenance contract for the buildings. The station was already equipped with a video surveillance system. “As already happened for the Bagnoli station on the Cumana line, as part of the CREAV project – that is, the call to assign and enhance, with street art works, the assets and therefore the stations that fall within the routes managed by the entity – we were happy to make the spaces of the Ponticelli station available to these young artists – De Gregorio emphasizes – especially because we wanted to provide an opportunity for artistic expression that was shared with the entire neighborhood citizenry”.
