Blues music has a place in Irpinia where it can “explode” all its extraordinary artistic power: it is the Ufita Valley, which for years has hosted one of the most important and followed festivals of this genre in the regional and national panorama. Everything is ready, therefore, for the “Dogana Blues”, the highly anticipated musical event that every summer attracts and welcomes thousands of enthusiasts at the Dogana Aragonese, in the Tre Torri area of Flumeri. In a unique and evocative architectural setting, this year the seventh edition of the “Dogana Blues” festival will take place, the artistic and musical event organized as always by the Flumeri association “Suoni Nuovi”, chaired by Pasquale Moschella. There will be five days of great Blues, great music, great musicians and great performers, in the tradition of the event, from Wednesday 26 to Sunday 30 June 2019. Five days full of musical events, workshops, art. On the opening day, the event will be opened by the kids enrolled in the music courses of “Sonorialive” in Mirabella Eclano, who will perform sound performances using various instruments and will artistically trace a musical journey through the history of rock.
“This year – President Moschella underlined – we decided, together with the other collaborators, to give ample space to all those young people who are approaching or have approached music in the last few years. A way to encourage them to cultivate their passions, their vocations with the aim of cradling their dreams”.
On Thursday, June 27, “Gius-ep Indignation Vibes” and “Krikka Reggae” will take the stage, in an engaging condensation that links art, including cinematographic art, to music. In fact, in the evening there will be a screening of music-themed works and a video clip corner of the “identity-music” duo as part of the 2019 edition of the “Corto ea Capo” short film festival, curated by the “Daena Anima&Immagine” Association. Then, during the afternoon of Friday, June 28, a musical-creative workshop will be held for enthusiasts of all ages. This will be followed by a performance first by “Geriahtrya-Unpolit” and then by Gennaro Porcelli, guitarist of Edoardo Bennato, as well as leader of the “Gennaro Porcelli & Band”, which includes among its members Diego Imparato on bass, Raffaele Lopez on piano and Claudio Romano on drums. On Saturday 29th June, directly from the United States on the Flumeri stage, guitarist and singer Popa Chubby will perform, voice and guitar sound influenced by the echo of artists of the calibre of Jimi Hendrix and Willie Dixon. A soloist since 1992 and winner of the prestigious “Best new artist” competition, Popa Chubby has opened numerous concerts for James Brown and Chuc Berry. His performance will be preceded, at 18.30:30 pm, by the screening of the film “Great balls of fire” and by the country music concerts of “Little Blue Slim & Mrs Slim” and “Superdownhone”. Finally, on Sunday 18.00th June, “Peppe O' Blues” will be the great protagonist before a musical seminar, at XNUMX:XNUMX pm, then of the closing concert which will be opened by the performance of the “Robert James Blues Band”.
“Dogana Blues” will also offer cultural and educational events, many spaces dedicated to children with inflatables and entertainment, and there will be no shortage of food and wine stands with typical products and traditional Irpinia cuisine.
