At 20.30:29 pm on Saturday 2 June, in Fontenovella di Lauro (AV), the food and wine and folk event “Once upon a time in the village, rediscovering ancient crafts and flavours” returns, now in its seventh edition. After “Nobile: the polar adventure” on XNUMX June, the Fontenovella event is the second stop on the Lauretano tourist tour. Which will end in August, with the “Notte Bianca” and “Lumina in Castro”.
“C'era una volta il borgo” officially opens the calendar of the Estate Lauretana, which in July will range from theater to music. An arts festival, promoted by the Pro Loco “Nuova Lauro” and known as “Mamm 'e ll'Art” (third edition).
The president of the Pro Loco “Nuova Lauro” Francesco Mazzocca explains the importance of the synergy between local entities: “We felt the need to include and promote all the events of the Estate Lauretana in a single summer program. Not just those that specifically concern our Pro Loco and the Festival of the Arts. “C'era una volta il Borgo” by the association “Fonte Nuova” of Tilde Schiavone is now a fixed appointment of our summer, and together with “Lumina in Castro” organized by Pro Lauro, it is one of the summer events that our community can be proud of”.
“Once upon a time there was a village”, organized by the “Fonte Nova” Association, reaches its seventh edition and aims to recreate the typical atmosphere of a peasant village.
Starting from the dishes, prepared following ancient recipes: meatballs in sauce, bread mbusso int'è fasule, parmigiana 'e mulignane, wild boar meat, wood-fired pizza, homemade nougat, coffee and desserts from the “'A Montagnola” café, and much more.
An immersive atmosphere, where the live music of the Neapolitan posteggia, interpreted by Tamburini Castel Lauri, will be the soundtrack to a real journey through time. And every journey that respects itself has its guide, the storyteller Flavia D'Aiello, who will drag the audience into a world of fantasies and suggestions.
There is also space for children with the workshop “il borgo dei bimbi”, designed for them by the architect Ortensia Bonavita. Also planned is the social contest “Al borgo clicca e vinci” whose rules are published on the channels dedicated to the event. “Even if the format is the same – says the president of “Fonte Nuova” Tilde Schiavone – we try to tell new stories every year. I personally have a weakness for 'O pane mbusso int'e fasulle, a touching dish to say the least, which makes you understand how simplicity can be sublime. Dishes like this tell the story of the art of making do of the housewives of the past, who, with the little they had, tried with dedication and care to combine poor ingredients, making them tasty and nutritious.” The video of the grandmothers is a must: “This year too we will propose 'lí cunti na vota', the video story that collects the testimonies of our grandmothers who have now passed away. Testimonies that can teach a lot, especially to the new generations”.
