Sa 69-year-old from Mangone in the province of Cosenza, the author of the false diplomas presented by dozens of people in order to access teaching in schools. The "printing shop" was identified by the Carabinieri of Cosenza as part of the investigation that this morning led to the notification of 25 notices of conclusion of investigations in various regions of Italy, in addition to the 33 previously notified. On 25 January 2018, a house search was carried out in the home of the alleged author of the falsifications which allowed the discovery of a real "diploma factory", a counterfeiting center organized with several computers, printers and various IT material, as well as paper copies of diplomas already falsified. During the operations, all the material was seized also to prevent the man from continuing his illicit activity. 30 prints of diplomas apparently issued by the National Institute of Professional Schools and Courses were found, filled in with the names of teachers who had already emerged during the operation for having used false qualifications, as well as 2 reams of parchment paper for diplomas, blank, ready for printing. The crimes contested to varying degrees are material forgery committed by a public official in public documents in competition, material forgery committed by a private individual in competition, ideological forgery committed by a private individual in a public document within the scope of the operation “Minerva 2” against as many people residing in the provinces of Cosenza, Lecce, Pistoia, Milan, Bergamo, Forlì-Cesena. The notices of conclusion of the investigations that would have revealed the existence of a system aimed at the falsification and use, throughout the national territory, of diplomas apparently issued by state and private teacher training institutes in the provinces of Cosenza and Reggio Calabria, as well as by specialized schools for teaching support to disabled students, by the National Institute of Professional Schools and Courses of Cosenza. The false qualifications were formally enclosed by the suspects with the applications to be included both in the exhaustion rankings and in the institute rankings for hiring as teachers in primary and nursery schools, on a common position and on support. Today's operation follows the first phase of the investigation that culminated in November 2017 with the notification of other notices of conclusion of the preliminary investigations against 33 people investigated for the crimes of material and ideological forgery, having presented counterfeit school diplomas in education offices and comprehensive institutes throughout Italy. The activity concluded today with the issuance of 25 notices of conclusion of preliminary investigations, which are added to the 33 already issued in November 2017.
