Pagani. The funeral of Jolanda Passariello, the eight-month-old baby who died last Saturday night at the Umberto I Hospital in Nocera Inferiore, took place this morning in strict secrecy. Her father, Giuseppe Passariello, is currently in prison on charges of voluntary manslaughter and child abuse, while her mother is under investigation for complicity in murder. The funeral took place in the chapel of the Pagani cemetery. The religious service was celebrated by the Bishop of Nocera Inferiore, Giuseppe Giudice. Also in attendance were the mayors of Pagani, Alberico Gambino, and of Sant'Egidio del Monte Albino, Nunzio Carpentieri. The archbishop also urged those present to lay down "their weapons from their hearts" and to ensure that "this moment is not an emotional one."
