There are 150 children who have sought medical care at the San Giuliano hospital in Giugliano and Santobono in Naples for blisters and ulcers on their hands and feet after an afternoon in the swimming pools of Pareo Park in Licola, in the Flegrea area. The ASL closed the facility after the first inspection. It is still unclear what happened, but at a certain point this afternoon the air became unbreathable, the water in the pools changed color to green and the children started crying because of the pain in their feet and hands. Perhaps too much chlorine was added to the water. The Prosecutor's Office of Naples North opened an investigation after the report from the police who arrived on site together with the ambulances. "A Sunday of passion for the bathers who chose to shelter from the heat of these days by going to the Pareo park - comments the regional councilor of the Greens, Francesco Emilio Borrelli - Moments of great concern accompanied by some tension due to the lack of information and explanations from the staff who, according to what was reported on social media by some of those present, were not found on site. We ask that the episode be clarified immediately by tracing the causes that led to these problems for the youngest bathers, to avoid worse consequences". Vincenzo Schiavo, sole director of Pertenope Investment srl Pareo Park, denied the accusations made by the parents against the water park. And he speaks of sabotage. “We believe they are sabotages. This morning there were children, at least twenty, who had a rash on their feet. We suggested the parents go to our infirmary to treat the redness. It is not true that our pools are dirty. If the water in our pools had been dirty, the rash would have spread over the children's entire bodies. This did not happen”.
