SThe UNC (National Consumers Union) intervenes in the emergency transfer of the sick from Capri. The UNC reports that the hydro-ambulances “have been out of use for some time” while the shipping companies no longer take on board ambulances with patients on board, who can no longer remain inside the vehicles parked on board. “The only point of health care on the island is the Capilupi hospital – adds the Consumers Union – a small structure that is no longer sufficient for complex cases”. As for the possibility of transferring the sick with the 118 helicopter service, the flight is conditioned by the weather-sea conditions and limited to daytime hours, therefore very serious risks are expected for the sick on the island”. The UNC asks the shipping companies to intervene to authorize the boarding of ambulances on ships.
