SAn important conference on the South took place in the heart of the city of Naples. The Coccordillo Si è Drowned, the book by Pietro Massimo Busetta, of Rubbettino editore, Mezzogiorno al Bivio, the CGIL of Naples located in the very crowded Via Toledo, had the pleasure and honor of hosting in the renowned Salone Federico, the conference and the round table composed of all the excellences of our country, professionals gathered in an important morning, arriving from all over Italy. For the first time in Naples, the Alliance of Southern Institutes meets to discuss, launching a signal of strong synergy between different realities of the Regions of Southern Italy, with the aim of bringing this territory back to the center of Italian economic policy, so that after decades of pretenses a real path of growth and development can be undertaken, the Alliance brings together professionals and researchers of Southern Italy in a moment of deep crisis of Southern thought, where it intends to stimulate a concrete government action in favor of Southern Italy, overcome the individualism of the South with the aim of improving the ruling class and starting a unitary communication strategy. The conference opened by the General Coordination, Salvatore Sacco, Alliance of Southern Institutes together with the Director Francesco Saverio Coppola Secretary General of the International Association Guido Dorso, President of the Bank of Intangible Resources. The Director Francesco Saverio Coppola, brought in the morning of the conference, the greetings of the President of the International Association Guido Dorso Nicola Squitieri, entrusting a beautiful message, simply recalling the words that the former President of the Italian Republic Giorgio Napolitano, when he received the Dorso Award in Rome, said that one of the problems of our South is not knowing how to work as a team, leaving a synergic message, that of joining forces and working as a team, as it was then demonstrated in the following years, working as a team. This country cannot be born by maintaining the imbalances, therefore a rebalancing of the territory is needed, against which instead the strengthened autonomy of those who are in their own Regions travels, and then above all an important thing is that the Southern Question has changed, while before the Southern Question we are talking about the historical one, also that of the Cassa del Mezzogiorno, it was that of the Rebalancing, today the problem of the Southern Question is the National Unity, strangely the request for National Unity comes more from the South than from the rest of the Country, and this clearly makes it clear that the very end of the problem has changed, the Southerners feel much more the European and Mediterranean vision, compared to their own Country, and perhaps they also think of living off the income as well, and they have not realized that the Regions such as Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto are losing competitiveness, so at this point if National, economic and social Unity is not done again, there is the risk that this Country will become an entire Southern Europe. From this comes the will to get together, but on some principles, each one maintains his own individuality, so we respect the individuality, the history of each one, but do it in such a way that there are some common objectives, where we put together a proposal for the entire territory all together, therefore a very collegial and democratic vision, this proposal also becomes a negotiation proposal to bring to the Regional Bodies, and to the National Bodies, in addition we give ourselves a communication tool of the Alliance, which opens to a kind of blog, where everyone always adhering with their diversity, and individuality, will be able to write on common topics that concern the Alliance, then each one manages his own problems in his own territories. We are thinking of organizing a series of economic days for the whole of Southern Italy at the same time at the end of the year, so on the same day we will do the Economic Days in Bari, Naples, Palermo, wherever possible, and it will be as if we were lighting the fires of Southern Italy at the same time, but having all these territorial organizations very strong in their own territory. We choose all the organizations in the roots of the territory, therefore that truly represent the territory, we choose the Sicilians who live in Sicily, the Apulians who live in Puglia, the Campanians in Campania etc. We formed ourselves at the Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno, during a press conference against the strengthened autonomy, now we are 12, but we also have requests for other members, then we will begin a more proselytizing activity. Our vision, we do not want to create formal organisms, the organization is informal based on what I clarify, the Magna Carta of Southernism, in fact we will have a Magna Carta where we establish principles. All those who want to achieve those goals and we want to achieve them together, will be part of this organization, but without constraints, without armchairs, because the armchairs are what have ruined the South, we want "Chairs with Wheels", this is the goal that we set ourselves. We are producing a book, for one of the organizations, the Banks - Businesses Observatory, where in fact we have collected 31 stories of Excellences of the South, interesting experiences, to make people understand that this South in which so much bad talk sometimes, not only from the side of the northerners, but also from the southerners, in fact it is not exactly like that, there are people who actually believe, hope, fight, clearly but not only for themselves, and the most important thing that emerges from these interviews is that they do not fight only for themselves and their family, but above all for the territory in which they live. There is this social value of the Southern entrepreneur that is not always found in the Northern entrepreneur. The opening of the conference by the Secretary General of the Metropolitan Naples Labor Walter Schiavella, followed by the speech of the Doctor of the Municipality of Naples who represents the delegation of the autonomy of the city of Naples, the President Giovanni De Falco IRES Campania (Institute of Economic and Social Research of Campania), Antonio Corvino Director of the Observatory of Economics and Finance of Bari, Professor Paola De Vivo of the Department of Political Sciences of the University Federico Secondo of Naples, Marco Esposito the Journalist who coordinated the works and Author of the book Zero al Sud, which tells the story of fiscal federalism.
