Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte will be present at the presentation on Tuesday, June 18, of the report on East Naples by the City of Naples's committee of inquiry into the Camorra. The meeting will take place in the early afternoon at the Oasi figli in famiglia (Children in the Family Oasis) on Via Ferrante Imparato in San Giovanni a Teduccio, Naples. The event, organized with the National Federation of the Italian Press, Libera, the Fondazione Premio Napoli, and Articolo21, will feature a speech by the mayor of Naples, Luigi de Magistris, and will include participants from associations, committees, and volunteer groups—those referred to in the event's title as "Inside Voices," because they operate in so-called high-risk areas. Journalists from the South and North of the country who report on the mafia and corruption, some at great risk, will also be present. The goal is to build bridges of social justice and launch a common proposal for the city's redemption and against the mafia. We are a country where politics undervalues the fight against the mafia and corruption. When dramatic events occur, such as the injury to little Noemi, or the brutal murders or sensational arrests of politicians and administrators, ad hoc statements and solutions abound. We, however, are convinced of the need to engage in dialogue in order to regenerate the great potential of the region and its inhabitants.
