On Saturday the 22nd, a seminar on the restoration of the Benedictine Abbey of San Salvatore Telesino was held. The event, part of the activities funded by the Campania Region Tourism Department's POC Eventi 2014/2020 program, featured Felice Casucci, Full Professor at Unisannio and President of the Romano Foundation, and Filippo Liverini, President of Confindustria Benevento. A welcome return to the abbey for Architect Vallone, designer and project manager, who expertly illustrated the restoration techniques used to properly restore the property. Photorealistic and three-dimensional images showed the audience the various restoration interventions, including the valuable frescoes within the structure, and also described the archaeological discoveries made during the excavations and the conditions before and after the intervention. During the seminar, an exhibition on restoration topics was held, sponsored, like the conference, by the Order of Architects of the Province of Benevento. The valuable work of the team of architects continues through a tour of the Sannio region, aimed at raising awareness and actively engaging the general public in the world of architecture and design, and the pursuit of beauty in stylistic detail as a theme, with the aim of highlighting the many specificities of their profession. An exhibition of design ideas, many of which have been realized. Numerous examples of successful recovery and restoration were featured, including the castles of Faicchio and Riardo, the Pompeian domus, the reuse of the ancient cistern discovered in the excavations of ancient Telesia, the restoration and repurposing of San Vittorino in Benevento, the ancient monasteries of San Lorenzo M., and much more. The team of Sanniti architects, composed of Emilio Franco, Nicola D'Ovidio, Gerardo Marsullo, Maurizio Di Donato, Pasquale Palmieri, Roberta De Santis, Luisa Romano, and Giusy Cusano, explained their various projects to the audience. Also present were archaeologist Fabio Fiore, who spoke about the churches of Faicchio, and surveyor Rocco Maciariello, who displayed models, entirely made of stone and terracotta, crafted by meticulous artisans, of the castle and ancient village of Riardo. The event concluded with the musical performance "The Man Who Speaks to the Heart," curated by artist Maurizio Picariello, which captivated the audience until late.
